I am not one for bar soap- I typically don’t like it on my body and I’m certainly not a fan on my face. I bought this as a cleanser because I was travelling and looking for ways to reduce my liquids and my usual cleansers. I tend to have sensitive, break-out prone skin and am picky about skincare and have a multi-step routine- I tend towards high maintenance when it comes to my skin as it’s taking years to find the system that works to prevent breakouts. This is my favourite cleanser over and above the various beauty brands (mostly k-beauty) I’ve been using over the past few years with actives.On days when I wear make up or sunscreen, this is my second cleanser- it’s super gentle and I’m not sure I would trust it to take makeup off on its own. I go in with an oil cleanser first and then have this take off the residue. On makeup free days, I use only this. It’s pH-balanced unlike a lot of bar soaps so it doesn’t irritate my skin, it’s gentle enough that it doesn’t hurt my eyes and it’s residue-free not living that squeaky soap cast or any film. Yet I feel like the lactic acid does something for my skin barrier and the appearance of my skin. I often put this on leave it in as a mask and brush my teeth before washing it off and my skin always feels clean but not squeaky and soft and soothed afterwards especially if I’m brewing a breakout.This was meant to be a travel soap for convenience but it’s now in regular daily rotation in my skincare regimen at home as well.
